Final song choice
Angel is a singer/ song writer that not many people know. When researching as a group we found most of his songs were very interesting as not only was it catching for the audience but it also linked to our target audience which is young teenagers (girls). When we came to a group decision we planned to use the song 'Wonderful' this song inspired many of our group members. The song is about something wonderful which is illustrated though out. We previewed the song a lot of times before making our decision as we realised that the cuts were fast including a lot of props as well as lightening and camera work. This very much linked with the target audience we wanted to aim it at as it reflects many aspects of what teenagers actually do in todays society.
Angel 'Wonderful'
As a group we chose the song 'Wonderful by Angel. This song is based on object, people who are beautiful and how wonderful life is with them, through the video we see a group of people celebrating how wonderful life is with these things. Looking at this music video many interesting challenging effects have been used with great edits, the video tends to be very fast paced with a lot of jump cuts as we see at one part from one shot we see around 6 others used through a base track this catches the audience attention quick making them want to see more. The video is one important aspect of promoting a song as it needs to interest the viewers in order for them to continue watching and talking about this video.
Above is an illustration i have put together to show the different types of location, miss en scene and camera work used in the video. Close up and long shots are mostly used to reinforce the meaning of the song and allowing viewers to focus on the expressions perceived on the artists face. We are brought to the party scenes a lot of the time, these scenes are there to show us to celebrate what life has to bring as after all it is wonderful as illustrated through the objects / people used and also through the lyrics.
As shown in this image these are 3 images the artist refers to continuously throughout he refers to images such as tattoos woman and doves being what makes things beautiful/wonderful. All these images give many connotations of not just a beautiful/ wonderful object but also gives us the idea of how peaceful, and purified it is. We are referred to this dove at least 4 times and is also represented in slow motion to give the audience time to reflect on how wonderful and pure the object is linking this in with the lyrics. When re creating this video we would need to make sure that the ideas are not similar and try our best in order to get as many shots in as possible as this after all is a fast paced song choice.
